Ragtime is uniquely American music. Born at the turn of the century, its driving rhythms and daring syncopations reflect the excitement and optimism of the new century. The four rags included in this book attempt to capture some of that spirit at an intermediate level, and to encourage the student to explore further the vast and highly diverse world of ragtime.
