Flatwater Sketches
The name “Nebraska” is derived from a Native American word meaning “flat water.” It refers to the Platte River, the shallow, wide river that traverses the state. Inspired by the beauty and pastoral grandeur of the American prairie, composer Nolan Schmit takes us on a journey featuring majestic brass and lyrical woodwinds. Flatwater Sketches correlates with Tradition of Excellence Book 3, page 12.
