SPECIAL 50th Anniversary Fully Transposed Conductor’s Score

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of its publication, the Neil A. Kjos Music Company is proud to release this newly-engraved and fullytransposed score to John Zdechlik’s influential composition Chorale and Shaker Dance. Also included are recollections about the composer and some rehearsal tips from the Kjos Family of composers.

This masterwork has become a standard in the band repertoire since its premiere at the 1972 National MENC Convention in Atlanta. The work contains two basic ideas: the Chorale, which is a simple, single phrased melody; and the familiar Shaker song Simple Gifts.
