Robert Linn (1925-1999) composed Partita in 1980 for Baylor University. Two energetic Allegro sections frame a central Adagio. The seemingly jagged and agitated melodic lines contain wide leads and distinct articulations. The central section retains these melodic qualities but Mr. Linn presents them in a lyrical setting with extended chordal harmonies. Feature this tour-de-force in your next concert!
