Chrissy Ricker

Beginning her piano studies at the young age of seven, Chrissy Ricker grew up with the joy of playing by ear and composing her own music. She spent many happy hours making up her own “stories” at the piano. By the time she reached middle school, Chrissy knew that she wanted a career in music. Chrissy Ricker received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in piano performance and pedagogy from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. She maintains a private piano studio in the Raleigh area, teaching students ranging in age from five to adult. She enjoys arranging and composing music to motivate and challenge her students. Ms. Ricker is a member of the Music Teachers National Association. One of her articles on piano pedagogy was featured in American Music Teacher magazine, the official journal of MTNA. She is also an active member of the North Carolina Music Teachers Association and the Raleigh Piano Teachers Association, as well as the honorary music society Pi Kappa Lambda.
