Pablo Trindade-Roballo
Pablo Trindade-Roballo is a Uruguayan conductor born in Montevideo in 1961. He graduated in piano, orchestral and choral conducting, double bass and composition at the Fálleri-Balzo Conservatory in Montevideo. He was a fellow of the OEA and the Inter-American Music Council (Consejo Interamericano de Música - CIDEM) in Venezuela where he specialized in orchestral conducting. He also has a degree in music at the Centro Metodista Universitário, IPA in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
He has distinguished himself for his educational work in music, having been working as a teacher since 1981. His compositions and arrangements are part of the repertoire of vocal groups and choirs in America and Europe. He has conducted and taught courses in choral conducting, arrangements, popular music and group singing dynamics in cities in Argentina, Brazil, USA, Ecuador, Spain, France, Mexico, Paraguay, Portugal, Uruguay and Venezuela.
He has been the artistic director and conductor of Expresso 25 since October 1996. He also conducts Grupo Vocal do IPA and Sem Contradição in Porto Alegre, the Coro Tramontina in Farroupilha, Rio Grande do Sul, and the vocal and instrumental group Areté in Itajaí, Santa Catarina.
He has founded and conducted Suite Montevideo, created and directed the Coro Juvenil Uruguayo, and directed the Federaciones de Coros del Litoral y el Centro de Uruguay at the Ministry of Education and Culture in Montevideo. He has also conducted the Orquesta de Juventudes Musicales del Uruguay and has served as assistant conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil Uruguaya. He has conducted the Venezualanas de Lara Orchestra (Barquisimeto), the Valencia Orchestra and the Guanare Orchestra.
In 1983, he created the Montevideo Saint Dominique Chamber Orchestra, as well as the Montevideo Musical Camerata Orchestra in 1990. He has served as director and arranger of Allcanfour and Sinfrack in Buenos Aires, in Argentina, and as director of Projeto Fábrica de Artistas, in Botucatu São Paulo, Brazil. He has also managed the project ""Music in Motion"" in state schools in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
With Expresso 25, he won the Açorianos Music Award for Best MPB Performer for the album Expresso 25, which he arranged and conducted.
He participated in the 2008 and 2010 editions of the Bachwoche in Stuttgart, when he worked on pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach with Hellmuth Rilling, and conducted the Bach Collegium Stuttgart and Gächinger Kantorei Stuttgart.
Since 2010, he has been teaching courses on arrangements, conducting, and Brazilian and Uruguayan music for music groups in Stuttgart, Munich and Cologne, in Germany, Valencia and Barcelona, in Spain, as well as in cities in Mexico, Ecuador and in Brazil.
He has been the coordinator of the Encontros Internacionais de Música Coral do IPA (Universidade Metodista do Sul), held in Porto Alegre, since 2010.
In September 2010, he served as guest conductor of the Coro Nacional de Jóvenes de Argentina (CO.NA.JO), in Buenos Aires, for its main season.
