Paul Carey

Paul Carey studied composition with Alfred Blatter, Ben Johnston, and Eugene Kurtz at the University of Illinois. His graduate studies were at Yale University where he studied with David Mott. Mr. Carey’s Rise Up, Emma Lazarus was the winner of The New York Treble Singers 2003 composition competition. Esta Tarde, Mi Bien (This Evening, My Love) was the winner of the 2004 Cambridge Madrigal Singers International Composition Competition. His works have been featured as All-State choir selections and have also been sung at MENC and ACDA conventions at the state, division, and national level. www.paulcarey.net.
