Richard Erickson

Richard Erickson serves as Director of Music and Organist at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New York City. In that position he directs the renowned "Vespers with Bach" series, which features Bach cantatas sung on their appointed day in the liturgical context for which they were intended. This series is the oldest of its kind in the United States.

Erickson has appeared throughout the United States as a hymn festival leader, recitalist, clinician, and conductor. His previous appointments have been at the Eastman School of Music, the Juilliard School of Music, New York's Collegiate Marble Church, and Incarnate Word Lutheran Church in Rochester, NY.

A native of Superior, Wisconsin, Erickson holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin and the Eastman School of Music, where he received the Performer's Certificate in Organ Performance.
