Timothy Topolewski

Timothy Topolewski is Professor of Music Emeritus and was Coordinator of Instrumental Ensembles at the Crane School of Music at the State University of New York at Potsdam where he taught from 1987 until his retirement in 2006. During his career he conducted numerous state, national, and international festival and honor bands and orchestras including performances in Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia, and East Berlin, Dresden, Potsdam, and Leipzig, Germany. His principal instructor in conducting was Dr. Harry Begian with additional studies taken with Herbert Blomstedt.

He holds a B.S. degree in Music Education from Michigan State University, an M.M. in Music Education from the Catholic University of America, and a D.M.A degree as a full scholarship recipient from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana where he worked as conducting fellow with Dr. Begian.
