James Lyke
Dr. James Lyke taught at the University of Illinois (Urbana - Champaign) for 33 years, then taught another 6 1/2 years at Georgia State University in Atlanta . At both schools, he developed programs in piano pedagogy, taught group piano as well as private students, and performed many concerts .
Dr . Lyke has had a lifelong interest in American popular music which led to the formation of the American Music Trio featuring a singer backed by two pianos . The trio performed in many states . His many publications centered on arrangements for younger pianists He was honored by a Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy (NCKP).
