Dale Grotenhuis
In 1994 Grotenhuis was given the “Outstanding Music Educator In Iowa” award by the National Federation of State High School Associations. He was the 1985 recipient of an Outstanding Educators of America award as well as the McCowan Award presented by the Iowa Choral Directors Association for “outstanding contribution to choral music in Iowa.”
In addition to conducting the Dordt College Concert Choir, Grotenhuis has been a popular guest director and clinician at festivals, All-State Choirs, and universities. Prior to teaching at Dordt, he was a high school teacher in Washington and Michigan. His Master of Music degree is from Michigan State University; all course requirements toward a doctorate were completed at Ohio State University.
