David Lantz III

David Lantz III, originally from Mountain Lake, N.J., is a full time choral director and teacher of music theory, composition, and piano at East Stroudsburg High School, in East Stroudsburg, PA, where he has taught for the past 15 years. Throughout his teaching career, David has taught every grade level from Kindergarten through university.

David is frequently in demand as a freelance electric bassist and vocalist, both in the studio and throughout the tri-state area. And as a composer, he has approximately four hundred published choral compositions and arrangements with many major publishers across the United States. Though primarily a choral composer and arranger, Lantz has also written music for symphonic band, orchestra, jazz ensemble, piano and chamber ensembles. In addition, he is president of Lantz Choral Publications, a small publisher of sacred choral music located in Sciota, Pennsylvania.

Since 1981, David has been a freelance music editor and engraver for various publishers such as Warner Brothers, Alfred Publishing, Shawnee Press, and many others.

David obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education in 1978 from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, and his Masters Degree in Music Composition 2002 from West Chester University, West Chester, PA. He has studied music composition with Robert Maggio and Larry Nelson.
