Jane Ellen
Jane Ellen serves as Parish Organist for Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Writing seriously since 1986, Jane has over two dozen pieces published and a catalogue of well over 200 works, including works for choir, piano, voice, and various chamber ensembles. She has been commissioned by New Music Across America, the American Guild of Organists, the New Mexico Quincentenary Commission, and the New Mexico Arts Division in conjunction with the National Endowment for the Arts.
She is an avid musicologist and gives lecture demonstrations on music from various periods of history, her favorites being the 12th Century Little Renaissance, the Alamo Siege, and the American Civil War. She has completed several music theater projects with novelist/playwright Christina Hamlett.
Jane was awarded a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from the University of New Mexico, with double majors in Music Performance and Religious Studies. Her primary composition study was with Dr. William Wood.
