Jeff Jordan

Jeff Jordan is the Director of Bands at Fort Hays State University where he conducts the Wind Ensemble and marching band, teaches courses in Conducting and Music Education, instructs the horn studio, and oversees student teachers. Prior to his appointment at FHSU, Dr. Jordan taught instrumental music in the public schools of Florida and Kansas for sixteen years. He holds degrees in Music Education, Composition, and Conducting from Florida Southern College, the University of Kansas, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City respectively. Dr. Jordan’s principal teachers have included Gary Hill, Sarah McKoin and James Slutz (conducting), as well as John Pozdro, James Barnes, Jack Stamp and Paul Rudy (composition).
