Jerry Ulrich

Jerry Ulrich is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Dr. Ulrich came to this position from the LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts (the Fame school) in New York City. While at LaGuardia, choral groups under Dr. Ulrich's direction regularly appeared at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and in performances throughout New York City. Dr. Ulrich's prior teaching experience includes university positions at the City University of New York, Southampton College (NY), Hofstra Universtiy (NY), and Ashland University (OH), where he also served as Music Department Chair.

During the 1990-1991 academic year, Dr. Ulrich was Fulbright Visiting Professor of Music at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland. He is an award-winning ASCAP composer with several compositions and arrangements in print.

Dr. Ulrich completed the Master of Music degree from Southern Methodist University and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Cincinnati CollegeConservatory of Music. His early training included four years as a member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and Chamber Chorus under the direction of Robert Shaw.

Dr. Ulrich is also Music Director of the Dornoch Choral Festival (Scotland) as an affiliate program of Artists Alliance International, New York City. He maintains a busy schedule as an adjudicator, clinician, and guest conductor thoughout the United States.
