John David Peterson

John David Peterson is Associate Director for Graduate Studies in Music at the University of Memphis, where he teaches courses in Organ, Musicology, and Music Theory. He holds a doctorate in Organ Performance from the University of Michigan, and is a frequent performer throughout the United States both as organist and as chamber pianist. He was co-editor of the acclaimed Concordia edition of Bach’s Orgelbüchlein, and his articles have appeared in The Diapason, The American Organist, The Organ, The Hymn, and Opera Quarterly. His compositions and arrangements are published by Augsburg Fortress, L. K. Drew, MorningStar Music Publishers, Neil A. Kjos Music Company, and Bärenreiter Ausgabe. He was a 2002 recipient of The University of Memphis Distinguished Teaching Award.
