Kristen Allred

Kristen Allred received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy from Utah State University where she studied piano with Gary Amano and jazz piano with Larry Smith. She has taught piano at Utah State University and also through the USU Youth Conservatory. She was the first to receive the “Teacher of the Year Award” from the Conservatory.

Over the years, Ms. Allred has taught many piano students while also developing a strong love for composing. Along with writing beginning to advanced-level piano music, she also enjoys writing choral music and has won awards for her compositions. Kristen has several published choral works in addition to her piano works published by the Neil A. Kjos Music Company.

Kristen has served in many different music leadership positions in her church including organist, pianist, accompanist, music chairman, and children’s choir director. She is often asked to write music for special occasions. She is a member of ASCAP and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), and served as the Composition/Theory Chair for the state board of the North Carolina Music Teachers Association (NCMTA).
