Written as a response to incivility and current political unrest, composer Jack Stamp has given us a profound and soul-searching work for band. With chorale-like passages and plaintive soloistic melodies, Mr. Stamp builds these episodes to a powerful climax before ending simply with mallet percussion. Solos for English Horn and Flugelhorn are cued in other instruments.
