SUITE NO 2 FOR ORCHESTRA, OPUS 78
Commissioned and premiered by the Luton Symphony Orchestra, Great Britain in 1987, Suite No. 2, Op. 78 consists of four distinct movements. The first is a fanfare purely for brass and woodwinds, while the second movements, entitled "Scherzo," is in the style of a folk melody. The "Intermezzo" features an elegant cello solo in a style reminiscent of late romanticism. The fourth movement, simply titled "Finale" is neoclassical in outlook. All four movements are primarily tonal, however they definitely encapsulate the rhythmic vitality so typical of much 20th century writing.
