Fantasia and Fugue in C Minor, BWV 537 - Score
J.S. Bach composed the Fantasia and Fugue in C Minor for pipe organ in the 1720s. British composer Sir Edward Elgar arranged it for large orchestra 200 years later in 1922. Today, Ryan Nowlin has taken Elgar’s colorful and dramatic treatment for orchestra as the starting point for this arrangement for band, crafted specifically for “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, and added to the ever-growing collection of symphonic band versions of Bach’s inimitable organ music.
