Ryan Nowlin

Ryan Nowlin, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, holds both his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Bowling Green State University (Ohio). He has taught at the beginning, middle school, high school, and collegiate levels, including wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, marching band, conducting, and band scoring.

As a composer, arranger, and author, he has numerous publications for a variety of instrumental and choral ensembles, and has co-authored educational methods including Tradition of Excellence , Excellence in Theory, Excellence in Chamber Music , and Teaching Band with Excellence . In 2010, Mr. Nowlin joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band as staff arranger before being appointed to his current position of Assistant Director in 2014. In this role, Mr. Nowlin regularly conducts the Marine Band and Marine Chamber Orchestra in the Washington D.C. area, at the White House, and across the United States. Mr. Nowlin remains active as a composer, arranger, and guest clinician.
