Jeff Nevin

Jeffrey W. Nevin, PhD., is one of America’s leading mariachi educators and performers. Dr. Nevin is currently Professor of Music and Director of Mariachi Activities at Southwestern College in Chula Vista, California, where he has developed a mariachi curriculum that is the first such program of its kind. He has given lectures to music educators across the country on the subject of incorporating mariachi music into public school curricula, and he is the Artistic Director of the Mariachi Scholarship Foundation. Dr. Nevin’s first book, Virtuoso Mariachi, was published in 2002.
