Symphonic Tribute

Symphonic Tribute was composed as a celebration of two composers, Václav Nelhýbel and Clifton Williams, whose contributions to the wind band repertoire have had a lasting influence on composer Travis Freshner's musical voice. Though no specific themes or passages are borrowed from any individual work, the piece reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with both composers. Symphonic Tribute blends the influence of those composers' harmonic language and formal structure into an original composition that celebrates the power, color, and expressive range of the modern symphonic band.
