Taiwan Toccatina
A showy motor-rhythmic solo that has much to offer young pianists. It is an excellent study in alternating-hand 4ths, which move up and down the keyboard in rapid succession throughout the piece. Accents help define the melody in the A section, while a B section in staccato blocked intervals provides a nice contrast, ending with falling intervals and dynamics. The A section returns, and finishes with a cascade of descending 4ths for a grand and dramatic ending.
