Kirt Mosier

Internationally known composer and conductor, Kirt Mosier was, for many years, director of orchestras at Lee’s Summit West High School in Lee’s Summit Missouri. He also taught orchestration and arranging as an adjunct professor at University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music in Kansas City, MO. Mr. Mosier has many published orchestral works and twice won national composition awards. His first occurred in 1993 with Baltic Dance (National School Orchestra Assn. Composition Contest) and in 2004, American Reel won the Merle J. Isaac National Composition Contest.

From 1990 to present, Kirt Mosier has conducted numerous orchestras and served as keynote speaker throughout the U.S. and abroad. He conducted the National High School Honors Orchestra as well as the National Junior High School Honors Orchestra at Carnegie Hall in 2016. Internationally, Mr. Mosier conducted the 2015 International Strings Festival in Bangkok, Thailand and in the 2017 International Strings Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia. Kirt Mosier was recently awarded the Joanna Nichols Artist In Residence Grant by the Taipei American School and will be the Artist In Residence in Taipei beginning in 2020. He will live in Taiwan for the month of April each year.
